Trees For Seeds - To Thank You
For each preayer seed offered, a seedling or young tree is planted.
The Luminous Garden project has completed its first year and we are grateful for all the Prayer and Vision Seeds planted in the Garden. To acknowledge the giving of your love and energy we have chosen to plant trees for all the seeds and will continue this each spring.
Trees are considered to be the lungs of Mother Earth they absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen. The amount of deforestation that has occurred to make space, fuel, dwellings and more for humans across the world is hugely damaging and contributes to global warming. The winds cleaned by forests thousands of miles away bring clean air to sustain life around the planet.
As a local action we are contributing to The Tribal Lands Renewable Energy tree planting project of Trees Water & People. Reservation families receive education and guidance to plant and maintain wind break and shade trees given by the program at different communities each year. TWP has several other programs such as solar heating systems and tree saving stoves to assist communities in North and Central America with renewable energy development.
As a more global action The Luminous Garden has partnered with Trees for the Future which helps people in developing countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America improve their rural livelihoods by the introduction of environmentally sustainable land management projects focused on beneficial tree planting.
These are wonderful programs both have a variety of ways to contribute. You can keep the air your children breathe cleaner and assist far away communities to be more sustainable by gifting and or volunteering. Look again at the sites and please pass them along.
A huge focus of the Luminous Garden is on encouraging grass roots participation in visioning a better world. The world will take the form of the choice of actions people take ~ as conscious global community we make ~ today.

Take care of the trees you have. Be mindful before cutting down trees and plant at least one replacement tree somewhere. Each year commit to plant seedlings for the generations ahead.
In one year the average tree produces enough oxygen for at least 4 humans. If every American family were to plant one tree the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere would be reduced by 1 billion pounds annually, about 5% of what an average person's activity creates. One acre of trees can offset the carbon dioxide out put from two cars every year. You can find these facts and more about trees on line.
As you declare your dreams for the future of Earth and all her beings you launch the journey of each dream on the ethereal winds. Holding your visions steady to bring them into form is action you can take ~~ joining up with like minded projects is another.
