Thanksgiving Address ~ Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) People

As many celebrate Thanksgiving Day, remember THANKS GIVING is daily.

The People of the Longhouse, the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) People, have for centuries all times of the year for many occasions given thanks to all life.

Give thanks in your own way and enjoy and share this version of the Haudenosaunee Thanksgiving Address.

Thanksgiving Address

Greetings to the Natural World

The People

Today we have gathered and we see that the cycles of life continue. We have been given the duty to live in balance and harmony with each other and all living things. So now, we bring our minds together as one as we give greetings and thanks to each other as People.

Now our minds are one.

The Earth Mother

We are all thankful to our Mother, the Earth, for she gives us all that we need for life. She supports our feet as we walk about upon her. It gives us joy that she continues to care for us as she has from the beginning of time. To our Mother, we send greetings and thanks.

Now our minds are one. (Read more…)

Wind Speaks ~ Small Voice

WIND SPEAKS

In a whispered breeze or bellowed power

to Nature’s rhythm

The wind speaks of its duty to man, beast and plants

Over the high seas and rivers calm.

He does his cleansing and caressing to all,

Forever carrying a message for future generations.

“My duties are many. Many that Man does not know…..

I am vital.

On my currents are carried the future for the Universe.

I ebb and flow with power, beauty and love…

No beginning, no end”.

“I am Wind”

Small Voice

1998

Seems everyone is clearing and releasing these days including elders. Just last week Small Voice found this treasure tucked in box and put away more than 10 years ago, how wonderful she kept it and it can be shared here.

Cocooning, Confusion, Clarity.. ~ Rainy

Cocooning, confusion, clarity….Well only a little clarity...

Dear Friends of the Garden,

Its summer here in New York, we’ve had lots of rain and everything is green and overgrowing. Here though in the lumimous garden it’s been quiet, the blog entries and messages are piling up, just waiting for me to get to it… so what’s going on?

I have been and really still am in a deep quiet space, its been for a while now and I thought I’d offer a bit of an explanation for my absence in case anyone was wondering. Especially I want to share some about this experience as I feel others may have gone or will go through something similar. (Read more…)

We are a wildflower; Growing, Expanding and Ever Evolving ~ Brendan

We are a wildflower; Growing, Expanding and Ever Evolving

by Brendan Hill

We are a seed planted in the ground. We feel misplaced and out of the ordinary but we continue to pursue growth from within. We take in light and information from our surroundings which allows us to grow to a higher level. We seek more sunlight and energy the more we grow. We soon realize why we felt misplaced. We show color in a colorless atmosphere, we show brilliance in a dull world and we absorb sunlight in a harsh environment.

We look up, instead of down, even though the only observable life forms are below us. We continue to expand, despite the overwhelming pressure to contract. We feel alone in the world with only black and white colors surrounding our spectacular rainbow-like colors as we penetrate deep within the heart of the desolate land. (Read more…)

Paranormal Levels the Mundane ~ Theresa Varela

Paranormal Levels the Mundane

by Theresa Varela

My problem with the paranormal is that it’s become the mundane. Blogging about something that’s about as typical as tooth brushing makes for a challenge. I could ask you what you dreamt last night, whether your thoughts became clearer in the shower this morning or what the homeless man yelled out to you when you passed him on the corner. But recognizing various means of communication is an essential part of living comfortably with the paranormal. (Read more…)
